Hi....Kai is in her 19th week in just a couple days...someday, we will look back at some of these pics and wonder how she was so tiny! lol....Thanks for visiting this page.
Kai came to me by way of Tina Barber, at 16 weeks, from Fillmore, NY. An overgrown ball of fur, she clumsily trotted into the room, with her tail wagging and tongue lolling! She was mostly cream and white, with a black strip down her back and around the top section of her tail. She probably weighed in the ball park of about 35 lbs. Long lanky legs, made it difficult for her to climb or run, but climb and run she did! I fell in love immediately.
Its been about 4 weeks since I picked her up for her journey back to New Hampshire and her body has changed drastically. Most of the cream has been replaced with a black buffing, her ears lined in dark black as well as her back and tail. Her black face has lightened up ever so slightly and the span of it, has receded towards her eyes. The pictures here, span a mere 2 - 3 week period. I will post more as time goes on. Feel free to leave comments and thoughts. I hope you enjoy her journey as much as we will.
I live in a little seacoast town on the eastern seaboard called, Epping, New Hampshire. I have 3 dogs, a Swedish Lapphund mix (rescued), a Shiloh/Golden mix, a Shiloh Shepherd pup and an African Gray bird. I attend Walden University in a master's program in mental health counseling, but have recently transferred to Capella U and will resume studies in December.
I shared my home with a wonderful shiloh shepherd dog until August of 2008, when I lost my Stoner to bladder cancer. I miss her confidence, her protection and mostly her friendship. We were a wonderful team, along with her daughter and rescued friend. But she had to leave me, far too early. A few weeks later I knew I wanted to have another Shiloh in my life.
If you don't know about this breed, I urge you to go to Shilohshepherd.com and browse the site to learn about a magnificent creature!
I've brought home my second Shiloh (though a room mate many years ago had one in my home), her name is Kai and I plan to keep a diary of her progress for the next year or so. Please feel free to email me with questions or comments. And thanks for visiting out site.
